The skills you need
Scotland's public bodies cover a wide range of services. Boards need people from all kinds of backgrounds who bring different skills and experience.
Experience of working in a public organisation or on a Board is not essential. We want people with good communication and questioning skills, with enthusiasm, integrity and sound judgement.
Appointments are made on merit. When designing a public appointments round, the target pool for potenitial applicants is based on the Board's needs such as the knowledge, skills and qualities required.
We are looking for people who can make public bodies work better for the people of Scotland.
