It's what you know that makes the difference
The right people for the roles
Scotland's public bodies need board members who reflect Scottish society with experience and understanding from every walk of life.
Appointments are made on the basis of the skills, knowledge and qualities necessary to fill the role - and nothing else. Whatever the role, applications from everyone are welcome.
A public appointment is your opportunity to get involved with a public body. Joining either as a member or a chair, it is a chance for you to play your role in the leadership of Scotland's public bodies and supporting Scotland's communities to feel partnered with organisations, making Scotland's public services better for everyone.
Statement from Scottish Ministers:
"We appreciate the contribution many people already make to public appointments and are keen to see an increase in applications and appointments from those individuals who do not already hold a ministerial public appointment. Public bodies should give early consideration to how they can best attract a diverse range of suitably skilled and able people to their Boards".
